Cooking is Love made Edible

The main reason why I started to learn cooking was because when You Cook Your Own Food, You Know Exactly What You’re Eating. Being the only daughter in the family I was expected to know cooking and so my mother used to teach me different delicacies.

As it is rightly said, “Eating is a necessity but cooking is an art”.

The more I started learning and enjoying the process of making food, I realised that no matter how hard and precise I got with my measurements and ingredients, I still couldn’t be as good as my Mom. Over a period of time I just realised that it is not about competing with her but to learn as much as possible from her.

As time passed by, I was able to make a wide variety of dishes without much effort. Thus being consistent with your cooking helps drastically improve the taste of the food that you prepare.

To me, it’s not whether or not you can cook; it’s whether or not you have the desire, the confidence and the inspiration to do so.

If you have those traits, learning to cook, or improving the cooking skills you already have, can be a very tasty experience.

Soon I started to learn cooking from my friends, relatives and even youtube. Over a period of time, I got to know that each one has a speciality which he/she can cook without much efforts and the taste is heavenly.

This gave me a boost to learn different types of dishes from different people to add variety to the food I was cooking. During this journey of mine I realised that one doesn’t have to be a renowned chef to showcase this art of theirs.

As I started to learn new recipes from different individuals, I got to know that, “A recipe has no soul. You as the cook must bring soul to the recipe”.

To showcase the art of cooking from different individuals who need not be renowned chefs but have their own special way of cooking delicious food, I started this blog and youtube channel.

Sip it up

Since I started with my fitness, I was looking for something healthy to drink and eat. Since it is winters, I thought why not try a soup. I remember having soup at my uncle’s place and immediately asked him for a recipe. I want to share the recipe with you. Let’s start.

  • 1 Regular Onion (finely chopped), optional ingredient
  • 2 tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • 1 beetroot (grated)
  • 2 carrots (grated)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper powder (a pinch)
  • Ghee (1 tspn)
  • 5 Garlic cloves

How to prepare:

  • Mix all the vegetables and pressure cook
  • Once cooked, strain the mixture

Do not throw the pulp. It can be used to make another dish – patties

  • Add salt and black pepper powder to the soup
  • Temper (tadka) smashed garlic cloves in ghee
  • Add the tempered mixture in the soup
  • Heat it up, stir well and serve hot before meal
